Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Is shopify payment available in India? in the website it says-
"Shopify supports all the popular payment methods in India :
Credit & Debit cards
Cash on Delivery
Netbanking
Wallets
Bank transfer
UPI
EMIs
Paypal "
Are these options included with shopify payment in India or just the third party providers? In either cases, please let me know the charges for these options with shopify payment or if its not available, the charges for third-party provider. I'm planning to make a clothes store based in india to sell only for the customers in india. If shopify payment is not available in India, which is the best third-party provider which charges the least and most efficient? And are these providers accepting new customers?

Hi @kirang
Thanks for reaching out here! Those are great questions.
I understand that you are wondering about payments on your store, and in particular if Shopify Payments is available in India. I'd be happy to provide some information here for you.
Contrary to what @magecomp has explained, Shopify Payments is not available in India. This means that if you want to accept credit cards on your store, you would need to set up a third-party payment provider. There are two types of credit card payment providers: direct providers and external providers. If you're using a direct provider, your customers can complete their purchases directly on your store, and they won't have to pay at a third-party checkout. If you're using an external provider, your customers will need to complete their purchases on a checkout page that's hosted outside of your Shopify store.
You can view a list of all available payment gateways in India here. There will be transactions fees involved in using a third-party gateway, which are dependent on the plan that your store is on. For a breakdown of each plan and the costs involved, check out our pricing page here.
As for the best provider which charges the least and is most efficient, it's best to compare the fees and features of payment providers to determine which meets your specific needs. Some popular payment providers in India include CCAvenue, 2Checkout, and Stripe, which offer competitive transaction rates. It's important to note that some payment providers may require you to have additional documentation to register. Therefore, be sure to check with the payment provider beforehand to see what documentation they require, and whether they are accepting new customers at the time of application.

Hi @Rick
So if I opt for payment options other that credit card, I dont have to use third-party provider? Is it included with shopify payment? Or is it just the third party providers is the only option for a payment gateway in India? I'm sorry I got a bit confused.
Good questions! Don't worry about being confused, that is OK and we are always here to help.
If you wanted to have other payment options on your store besides credit cards, then you could consider things like Cash on Delivery (COD), bank transfer or cheque etc. I would recommend having a look through the Payments section of our Help Center here to learn more.
You won't be able to use Shopify Payments in India, so you will likely need to consider using a third-party payment gateway to accept credit cards on your store - for this, transaction fees will be charged.
You would also need to pay transaction fees when using PayPal, additional/alternate payment methods such as bitcoin, and the India Advanced COD app. For manual payment methods such as accepting payment by cheque or cash, there are no extra transaction fees involved.
We actually now have some India-specific Community Forum threads, which you can use to ask questions and engage with other members of the community. Please feel free to check them out:
We also have this excellent post on our Shopify Blog here, which is a business guide for setting up a business in India post Covid-19. Let me know if you have any additional questions, and I would be more than happy to help!
