Payment gateways for business in French Polynesia

Hi,

I'm in the process of creating and launching my Shopify store, I'm based in French Polynesia and looking for a payment gateway, I found OceanPayment and I'm trying to contact them they asked for additional information which I provided but they haven't responded in 4 days..

Is OceanPayment a safe and trusty payment gateway ? Are all payment gateways in the list provided by Shopify safe ?

My suggestion would be to navigate to your Shopify Admin, click on Settings > Payments, and explore the available payment gateways listed there. The gateways displayed in this section have met specific criteria to ensure that the app is approved for public listing.

Since you're just starting out, I suggest browsing through The General Checklist as it is a great tool that will ensure that you have your Shopify store all set up and ready for customers to make purchases on. In other words, having a finished product, that includes having your media, shipping and check out all in working order.

Hey Mac,

Thank you for your answer, I've completed most of The General Checklist but I'm stuck at the payment gateway thing. Can't let clients order if they can't pay. Shopify Payments is not available in French Polynesia unfortunately and OceanPayments and Payoneer have not responded to my emails.

Any solutions ?

While waiting to hear back, I suggest viewing their documentation to learn more about the requirements and setup process to see if they would be a good fit for your business. I was able to find both Payoneer and  OceanPayments documentation as well as contact forms.

Hey there. did Oceanpayments or payoneer ever replay to you? I am trying to set one up and it is proving to be difficult? I have not heard from either. Just like you, I do not have shopify payments due to my location. i cannot launch if there is no way to pay.

Hi, it took 3 emails for OceanPayments to respond with a simple "Unfortunately we cannot provide our services to you". Just that, no explanation, I asked for some but never got any. Payoneer straight up ignored all my inquiries I guess. I'm moving away from Shopify because just like you I can't launch if there's no way for clients to pay.

I talked to Shopify support and they've been really helpful unfortunately they can't help me with that.
