Paypal Express button - change gold color

Hello

Shopify support tells me the Paypall Express gold button cannot be changed due to branding.

Paypayl itself supports a few settings: https://developer.paypal.com/docs/checkout/integration-features/customize-button/

Can anyone offer input if this is possible to change on Shopify or if it is indeed impossible,

Nick here from Shopify. 

I spoke to our theme support team for you about his. They mentioned to me that this isn't possible because it is the button PayPal provides to us and we’re not able to adjust as it would affect the agreement we have with them in regards to brand awareness/recognition. So I can confirm what the support team said to you in that it cannot be changed due to branding.

Hi Nick, I can see on the Nike website that the paypal button has a light grey background. That looks much nicer that the golden background. Is there a way to change the paypal checkout button into the Nike one? Thank you

Great question! I double-checked with our theme support team who mentioned that the button is core-based, meaning it can't be changed even by Shopify.  We also have an agreement to use this button as it is with PayPal as it’s their code.

No worries at all @josekok. It is definitely possible to make the PayPal button smaller and in line with the checkout button. Something to note is that it does look a little distorted though, so it might not be great from when I have seen it previously. 

Depending on what theme you are using, our theme support team could look into helping you with this. If it is a free Shopify theme, we can look into it, but if it's a paid third party theme, your best bet might be to reach out to the developer directly about helping you with it.

I'm not 100% sure of that myself. Do you mean to just move the button somewhere different or actually make the button bigger or smaller? I'm not sure if it's possible to actually adjust the button itself as that would come from PayPal. If you're using a free Shopify theme, someone from our theme support team can confirm whether or not this is true for you. You can log in here and verify to speak to an advisor to start that process. 

If it is a paid third party developed theme, it would be best to ask a Shopify Expert.
