Hello,

 

ISSUE COLLECTING FINAL PARTIAL PAYMENT.

 

We work in a store where we take a 50% deposit payment on pre-order & special order items. Eg. Custom made Sofas and furniture pieces.

 

When these sales are made we want the order and deposit payment captured in our shopify system. Along with the ability to issue an invoice to the customer confirming their order and payment transaction & balance owing.

The resulting order would appear on Shopify as "Unfulfilled" and "Partially Paid",

 

Up until recently our process was as follows:

 

- Using Green shopify on our laptops create a Draft order.

- Then tick the "Payment due later box" and hit the Collect Payment button. The order would then appear as "Unfulfilled" and "Payment Pending".

- The 50% deposit (which we would manually calculate) would be processed via our EFTPOS terminal.

- Using the Shopfiy POS app we would locate the order & tap the "Collect Payment' button.

- We would then process a partial payment. The order would then appear as "Unfulfilled" and "Partially Paid".

- Using Easy Invoice an invoice could then be emailed to the customer showing order details, deposit paid and balance owing.

- Later, when the order was ready for collection we would locate the order using Shopify POS app. Tap "Collect Payment" and it would allow us to process the balance owing.

 

We now run into issues with procesing the final partial payment when the following occures:

-  The "Collect Payment" button on Shopfiy POS is lost (not seen on the interface). This happens if the order has been modified or partially fulfilled. Eg. Item Colour change, an item removed or an item added (Custom item for credit card surcharge). 

 

We are left in a difficult position where we cannot process the final partial payment on Shopify POS.

 

On the Green shopify interface we have the option to click "Collect Payment". However, it processes the order total amount not the final partial payment.

The outcome of this is the fulfilled order looks like the customer paid 150% of the total order amount.

 

Ultimately, we need to be able to accept partial payments on orders that may have been partilly fulfilled or modified. It would be good to be able to do this effectively on both Shopify and Shopify POS.

 

Please help - software modifications welcome.
