Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hello, I don’t know why I keep getting charged with Shopify 230930411. I no longer have an account and have shut down my store. So I’m trying to figure out why I’m still getting charged every single month?
Hi there, thank you for reaching out about this. Our chat support team would be happy to investigate these charges with you. If you are receiving charges to your billing card, then that means there is an active store on the platform with your card details attached. You can double check your stores have been deactivated by signing into the store admin. If they are no longer open, you would need to pay for a new subscription before you can sign in. If you can access the admin, then the store was not deactivated.
To access our authenticated chat support, please follow this link: Shopify Help Center. Open the AI chat window and type "contact support" to get started.

The store is already closed and when the payment is charged I don’t get a single email. Even when I changed my card, it would still charge my account under that new card even though it’s never been used in Shopify. I closed my account on March 19, 2024.
If you are seeing charges being made to a card that has never been used on Shopify then there is a good chance that your billing details have been compromised. I recommend cancelling your card and reporting these charges as fraudulent to your bank.

I already tried it, that’s why I’m confused on how the new card is even on Shopify but I don’t get a single email and I don’t even know what the Shopify number is or what subscription it is. So can you tell if it’s a Shopify app I had but even so I canceled all that. I don’t want to keep getting new cards if they new ones will keep getting charged.
If the billing card has changed, but is still being charged, then the new card may have been compromised as well. A cancelled card can't be billed and the card number, expiry date and CVV are all required to change a billing card on a Shopify account.
I strongly recommend changing your online passwords, reporting the charges as fraudulent to your bank and formatting your PC to remove any possible viruses or malware.

Okay, if I do all that and I get charged again…what will Shopify do to fix this mess?
If the card is closed for fraudulent charges then any accounts on Shopify connected to the card are also closed automatically as well. Shopify will always be happy to help in cases of fraudulent charges and ensuring your credit card details are removed if you are not closing the card with your bank. If your new cards continue to be compromised, that is not something we can help with directly.
Our live chat support team is always available though, you can connect with them and provide a screenshot of the charge (including the descriptor) to have the card removed from the connected account. To access our authenticated support, please follow this link: Shopify Help Center.

Hey Shay im writing to you as the same thing happened to me (For some reason I can't contact the real shopify support, because the stupid "Ai-support" will just pop up and do nothing helpful) - I recently got billed for 40 dollars, and the payment says "Paypal *shopify" on my bank app. The weird part is, I don't have any Shopify store (all my stores are closed since 2023 feb) and when I check my Paypal, I don't see any transaction??? I only see a transaction for -40 dollars on my bank app?? It just really annoys me, as I'm only 19 years old, and don't have that much money to begin with. Best, Christopher
I understand, I don’t know how I can even fix it because I’ve already changed cards twice and if it chargers again it’s something with Shopify because I shouldn’t be charged for a store I don’t have anymore.
That sounds really really annoying... I also remember getting weird transactions when I used shopify in 2023. It was over a year ago, so I don't really remember any details other than that. But now I just got billed 40 dollars for literally nothing 😂
Have you gotten any help. I need help canceling a subscription.
Hey, @Meilleurs, @Cozzypaws and @Brayanhdz!
