Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
I received an order from a customer, and they paid $6.33 in shipping. When making the label, I was able to reduce the cost of shipping to $3.96 by correcting the default package size option. Does the difference in shipping cost get sent back to the customer automatically, or will I have to do it manually? If manually, how can I do a partial refund for that cost? Thank you.

The difference in shipping cost does not get sent back to the customer automatically. You'll need to issue a partial refund manually. To do this, go to your Shopify admin, find the order, click on "Refund," and enter the amount to refund for the shipping difference.

hi @MythicMunchies you can refer the refunding order guide posted by Shopify here: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/orders/refunds-returns/refunding-orders
The difference in shipping cost won’t be refunded automatically. You’ll need to issue a partial refund manually. Here's how to do it, depending on the platform you're using to process your orders:
The shipping cost difference will not be automatically refunded to the customer. You will need to manually process a partial refund for the difference in cost. To do this, you can go to your order details in your platform ( e.g., Shopify, eBay), and find the option to issue a partial refund. Make sure to enter the difference ($2.37) and notify the customer of the adjustment.
