I started up a shop and was messing around etc and chose a plan. I was charged for this plan last week and was wondering if I would be able to get a refund and how I can go about this? I closed down my shop as soon as I was charged.

Looks like you have taken the right first steps already because a refund can only be issued once your store is fully closed. The next step involves getting in touch with our support here and requesting the refund. The reason that you will need to go through my support link is because we are currently unable to look into your account details from the Shopify Community, so I cannot issue the refund here myself.
