Refund Request

Hello, 

I am Hafsa and I am a student in college, On 30 November 2022 I sign up at Shopify with a discounted subscription of $1 for three months but i did not work on this store and i forgot to close the account also i did not know that Shopify will auto-renew the subscription. Now i received the college fee from my parents then it was automatically deducted shopify subscription charges from my bank account. i did not want to continue with the store so i want to close it. how do i get a subscription refund as i am not using it for a long time and also i am short on my college fee. please help

While we don't provide refunds as per Section 5.10 of our Terms of Service, we'd love to look into your request and see if we can make an exception. In order for us to do so, I need you to complete two things: first, deactivate your store and cancel your subscription, and second, create a support ticket.

To deactivate your store and cancel your subscription, you can follow the steps below.

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Plan.
2. Click Deactivate store.
3. If applicable, review the options to switch to the Pause and build plan, or start a new store.
4. If you still want to deactivate, then click Deactivate store.
5. Select a reason for the deactivation, and then click Continue.
6. Enter your password, and then click Deactivate now.

You will then receive an email to confirm the deactivation. Once your store is closed, you can create a support ticket so our support team can safely access your account information and see if a refund is possible in this case.

After visiting the link and logging in, you'll be prompted to select the topic of your concern so we can connect you to the right articles and support team. Once you do, you'll be able to find the options for support below the help docs that are presented to you.

Please note your store information will be kept for two years so you're welcome to log into your store anytime within that time frame and pick up where you left off.
