Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
I'd like to know how I might be able to remove the return address on shipping labels that I print through Shopify. I just started my business and so my business address is my home address. For security purposes, I would prefer not having to publish my home address on shipping labels.
Are you located in he U.S.?
I was not able to find a way around it. After having someone show up at my doorstep at 8am on Saturday morning, a P.O. Box was my answer. Shop around for prices. I figured they would all be the same, but small town or secondary post office prices are much cheaper. It was very affordable for the peace of mind.
Hey there, Millie!

That is a really great question. When it comes to Shipping labels bought through Shopify, they are being generated by the third party courier, for example, USPS or DHL. These companies require the address to be printed on the shipping labels as the pickup point must be listed. As Judith mentioned above, a PO Box would be the best way to overcome this, I understand your want for privacy and your overall concern!
Let me know how this goes and if there is anything else I can assist you with, I'm happy to help!

New user here - we just launched this weekend and had some sales -- when printing the shipping labels the return shipping labels continue to have our home address even though yesterday I set up a PO Box (displayed as a street address through USPS). I added the location in settings with no stock tied to it and also have it marked as the Shipping origin in shipping settings. Am I missing a step in getting it set up right? Thanks!
With the return labels generated through shopify, who does the shipping cost get billed to? For my business, returns are at the customer's expense and I want to ensure I am not incurring return shipping costs.
I'm having the same issue. Was there a response? Thanks!
Hi - I was having the same problem and just figured it out. Add a new shipping ("warehouse" or "fulfillment") location as your PO BOX. Then go into your product and switch the inventory to that PO box address ("warehouse"). Make sure to have 0 inventory to your home address. That should work.
In Texas the taxes you charge are based on where you fulfill your orders because of state county and local taxes so this will not work for me since my PO Box is in a different town/county. I have a full time job and work by the post office so it made more sense to get one there prior to joining Shopify. Now that is not the case 😞
I had the same issue today. An old address I no longer use (I changed at least a year ago) appeared on my label.
