Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
I have a Shopify store and ran into an issue while setting up sales tax in USA. When my customers are looking at their cart the price is $165.97 but when they move to checkout the first thing they see is price has changed to $166.93. This is before the customer provided the shipping address. I contacted Shopify and advised after a that the total would change and this is to be expected. But I concerned with losing customers early in the checkout process and see the price jump up before having their address is entered. Is there anything I can do to keep the price at the start of checkout the same as the cart?
Hey there! If you are looking to ensure that customers are seeing the total cost, taxes included, before reaching checkout you can enable taxes to be included in the product price. This does mean that the product price changes based on the taxes being charged.
For example, the product might be $30.00 and the tax for the product is $2.50. With taxes included in the product price the product price would be $27.50 + $2.50 = $30.00. This can be adjusted for better product price accuracy by setting custom prices based on market. You can learn more about this in our Help Center.
