Hi,

on the 20th of february I made an order for a Shopify seller, and I was supposed to be updated with confirmation of my order being send.

after 2 months, I did not received any update nor order. I contacted the seller and he said he would send me "new stuff" by the end of April. It now is May and the seller is unresponsive for a long time and not responding via Facebook, instagram, email or phone.

i have received an email regarding the payment of my order, have a screenshot of the payment to the seller via Shopify and proof of the seller saying they did receive my payment.

what can I do?

kind regards

Hey, @jonna075!

Thanks for getting in touch about your concern! It is always unpleasant when you haven't received the item you paid for.

Since more than 30 days have passed, and you have not received a sufficient update or your order, I would recommend getting in contact with your bank or payment provider here. If you paid for the order using a card or other payment method, you may be able to file a dispute with your payment provider. Contact your payment provider to inquire about the dispute process and provide any relevant information or documentation. Some financial institutions have consumer protection mechanisms and will be able to check what options are available to help you with this situation. I recommend reading this article that explains how to request help at the main banks.

If you feel concerned this store may present a threat of fraud, you can use our Report a merchant function here. All stores submitted here are sent directly to our legal team for them to review. I wish you all the best going forward!

If you have proof of payment and the seller is unresponsive, you can file a dispute with Shopify. First, try reaching out to the seller again and request a refund or to send the product. If they do not respond, you can file a dispute with Shopify by following these steps:

  1. Log in to your Shopify account and go to the Orders section.
  2. Find the order in question and click on it.
  3. Click on the "More actions" dropdown menu and select "Report an issue".
  4. Follow the prompts to submit your dispute.

Shopify will then review your dispute and may issue a refund if they determine that the seller has not fulfilled their obligations. It is important to act quickly to file a dispute as there may be time limits on when you can do so.
