Script - Change Shipping Rates

We change shipping at regular intervals throughout the day/night on our store (due to running promo's)

I am trying to make this process autonomous, as currently staff are on a rota do make these changes in the Shopify Admin console.

I know I can discount the shipping by units or percentage but this just isnt enough. I thought I would be able to set a schedule with these scripts on Launchpad, & at certain times of the day certain scripts will run and change the shipping costs. It baffles me to no end that everyone tells me this isnt possible? But surely that isnt the case in 2020?!

TLDR; I want to be able to write scripts to change the shipping rates and schedule them so they automatically change shipping rates at certain times, e.g at 9pm tonight, change STD shipping to £1.99 and NDD to £3.99.

I am at my wits end with this so any advice is welcome.

A year later and it appears this still isn't an option. We are looking for this too to schedule free shipping on promotions!
