I hope you're doing well. I'm encountering a challenge with setting up shipping costs in my Shopify store, particularly considering the specifics of operating in Portugal. Here's the situation:

- Each order I receive contains different products, leading to diverse packaging needs based on variations in size and shape.
- The shipping cost is directly tied to the total weight of the order, encompassing both the products and their corresponding packaging.
- I utilize six distinct types of packaging, each with its own unique measurements and weights.

Given this complexity, I'm seeking advice on configuring Shopify to accommodate these factors when computing shipping expenses. I'm particularly interested in solutions that consider the variety of packaging options and their associated weights in the context of shipping within Portugal.

Any guidance, insights, recommended apps, or even region-specific advice regarding shipping logistics in Portugal within the Shopify framework would be immensely helpful.

We do provide the support of setting up shipping rates for different sizes of packaging boxes and weights. We support carriers like USPS, Australia Post, etc. I am not sure which carrier do you want to use to ship products? We could definitely look into integrating that carrier within our app. 

P.S. - You need to be on atleast the "Shopify" level plan (or have CCS enabled on your store) to be able to use third party shipping rate apps from the Shopify App Store.

Just offering another third-party solution: You could try Starshipit, which also supports setting shipping rates based on packaging (size/weight etc). We've also got support for all major carriers and platforms. Let me know if you'd like some more information. Good luck otherwise!

I propose an alternative idea: incorporate the package weight directly into the product. If that's not viable, you might require an app that accommodates multiple boxes and takes into account the product dimensions to accurately select the appropriate box.

Nevertheless, it's important to acknowledge that automating box packing may not be applicable in every scenario. In such cases, you can offer estimated rates at checkout based on approximate weight and dimensions. Subsequently, provide the actual weight and dimensions when generating the shipment.

we run a store in Portugal as well. The alternative solution (add the package weight) works fine for us. If you ship more than one product, you can also have a general package that covers the weight of the external box and add the package weight for each item in the item itself.

Can I ask if you are syncing the stocks in the Invoicing software (certified by portuguese tax authority) with shopify? Which software do you use. We are facing some problems with ours.
