I have an item that weighs less than 5 lbs in the cart, shipping in the US for 19.90. When I go to buy label it is obviously way cheaper, can someone help? How do I make sure Im not making the customer overspend on shipping? Also when I try to switch over to "calculated shipping" it gives me the error that I can no longer ship to the address.

I made the mistake of deleting all the default settings and now I want to pull my hair out.

You need to understand that shipping costs can vary based on factors like weight, destination address, address type (residential or commercial), shipment dimensions, special services like delivery confirmation, the type of products you are selling, etc.
