Item weight in kg
Hello, Kindly help me with this. Is there a way to change these units to KG instead of LB because my products and courier company charges are based on KG. So my products Units are stored in KG.

Hi @SpotOnForMe,
Nick here from Shopify. Great question!
Your store would only be able to show one unit system throughout the store, but you can change this if you should wish. You can change it by taking the following steps:
Shopify Admin > Settings > General > Standards and Formats > Unit System
It should like this:
Once you change the Unit System, you can change the weight unit to lbs for your store and it should show up in your shipping settings.
Shopify also has a guide for this going into more detail which you can see here.
All the best, Nick

Hi @Nick,
We have the setting configured correctly (Metric+Kg),
but when we go to the shipping details we are only seeing Imperial weight as 'Ib' ?
Have we missed something else?
Hi @DCEE,
There is a workaround for this which has worked for other store owners previously. Can you try these steps please:
If this doesn't work, let me know and can find a way to take a closer look into this for you!

Hi,
I've tried all of the options above but no matter what I try, the shipping profile always shows amounts in oz as opposed to kg.
I changed the unit settings in general settings from kg to oz to kg again to force correct the settings but still in shipping profile rates it shows oz instead of kg.

What is the answer to this? I still have the same issue as described above. My site in metric kg but shipping weight are shown in lb.
This is a very quick fix for your IT team. Can't they fix this? This does not look professional.

Did This problem get solved? In my case I am not being able to change the unit from kg to lb. Tried everything. The unit system is in the Imperial system.
Please suggest.
Ok this is what worked for me.
1) In the settings we had Metric and KGs selected.
2) Changed the settings to Grams and Saved
Note, no change in the Shipping weights after saving
3) Changed back to KGs and Saved
Whilst this retained the old rates in pounds, I could add new rates in KGs
Phew, this finally worked for me too - thanks for the advice, I don't know what I would have done without this thread!
Thanks! This has now worked for me too , using new Shopify 2.0 - Dawn , but had to delete all existing rates first. Can Shopify not add a note in for UK users?
@Nick Thanks - Had a chat with support before your reply and resolved the issue by changing the measurements. It required a few changes back and forth to other units to get the system to update correctly, but all is good now.
That's so great to hear you got it sorted out @DCEE!
If you want, can you share those steps you took to make this change so others in the community can see and come across it also. It might help some other store owners who are experiencing the same problem. Thanks so much!
