Hi there, i have a customer in Canada, that wants to place an order but would like for me to ship it via Fedex, as they need it quickly, as my items are low price i have never used Fedex or a courier before for international parcels.  The Customer said she will give me her FedEx account number for me to send the parcel.

Is it just a case of going to a FedEx drop off point , handing the parcel with the customer's address on the front and a customs declaration and giving them the account number of my customer ?

3. FedEx Account Number: When you take the parcel to the FedEx drop-off point, inform the staff that you will be using the recipient’s FedEx account number for billing. You will need to provide this number at the time of shipping.
4. FedEx Shipping Label: If possible, create the shipping label in advance using FedEx’s online tools. Enter the recipient’s address and use their account number for billing. This can help streamline the drop-off process.
5. Drop Off the Parcel: Take the parcel to a FedEx drop-off location. Inform the staff that you are using the recipient’s account number for shipping and present the customs documentation.

In your situation, where the customer will provide their FedEx account number, EXW would be the best Incoterm to use. You will make the goods available for pickup at your premises. And, the customer handles all transportation arrangements, costs, and risks from your premises to their destination, using their FedEx account number.
Using EXW, you will have minimal responsibility for the shipping process, as the customer will be in charge of all logistics and costs. You simply need to prepare the parcel and have it ready for FedEx pickup. In contrast, DDP would mean you handle all shipping, duties, and taxes.

 

So, given the customer's preference to use their FedEx account and handle shipping, EXW is indeed the most suitable option.

Hi  there, sorry one more question regarding Incoterms, which is the best one for me to select in this scenario, where the buyer is paying all the shipping costs and fees which might arise, im thinking EXW is the best option or DDP as it is there account number linked to the parcel ? Many thanks
