Shipping Labels and Shipping in Canada

Hi there, 

We are starting up a business in Canada and will be shipping clothing in the beginning. Eventually, beer. 

How does everyone access and print their shipping labels? 

Is it worth investing in a label printer? 

Is Canada Post the best option for shipping or does everyone use third party delivery companies?

Shopify allows merchants to buy and print labels from Canada Post directly via the Shopify admin. You can also display live rates from Canada Post at checkout, providing you and your customers with as accurate a rate as possible. There are a number of supported printer labels you can use to print labels, and whether or not you want to buy a printer and print at home is down to you. It can make things more convenient and is especially helpful if you've a large number of orders to print labels for. Our documentation explains more how the process works and what you need to do to get set up.

In terms of which courier is best to use, Canada Post is probably the most widely used in Canada and its direct integration with Shopify makes it the easiest service to use, but you can always check price estimates with other couriers to see which is the best courier for you.

 Shipping labels can be generated by real-time rates from the Canada Post carrier.

It is best to use the carrier integrated app to ease the shipping process which includes a tracking order option apart from just getting a shipping label.

You can use the Multi-carrier shipping label app, the app automates the shipping label and prints shipping labels for multiple orders in bulk with a single click on the Shopify dashboard.

Getting a label printer is definitely a worthy investment. You can use it to print labels with your logo, bar codes, and postage.
The more labels you print, the more likely this machine will save you money.
