Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi There
Does anyone know of any way to add shipping rates through uploading a CSV?
We have a complicated shipping rates matrix from our warehouse and adding them manually takes ages.
If its not something that can be done through an existing module then would be happy to look at getting it custom created by a developer (if that's even possible).
Thanks
Paul
Hi, @BGAH_Keith!
I appreciate you following up on this.
I wish I had more details to share with you, but at this time, we're still collecting feedback on this feature request. If we have any updates on this in the future, we'll post these on our changelog and on our Updates blog, so I recommend keeping an eye out there.
Thanks!

Hi Rae,
Any update on getting this implemented yet?
Probably isn't going to happen @BGAH_Keith, there are requests/suggestions going back years and its still pretty much the same system they had when they launched.
+1.
I'm doing a migration now and was looking for the way to import via CSV.
When this will be available? We have several country shipping rates to be publish on our website. Its impossible to put all rate one by one. We need CSV file for this.
Hi Purenso,
We are waiting for Shopify to approve our new app, hopefully, this will be done in the coming days. I will reply again to this post when it's published and live.
You can already see how the app works through our new youtube channel
Hi All,
Good news, our app - Toolify Shipping Rate Manager, is now live on the Shopify App store 🙂
Errata the link given by EcomSpecialist expired, the app is now at: https://apps.shopify.com/toolify-shipping
+1000 here... we're holding up kicking off a big sale (as well as my Thanksgiving prep) because I've spent ALL DAY inputting shipping rates. I can't believe this isn't available.
We've implemented something like this for clients in a custom app before, including an in-browser spreadsheet editor and support for multiple Shopify shipping zones. The problem is generally different companies will have different formats / rules around shipping so rather than a singular CSV->shipping feature it's necessarily going to include somewhat complex features and logic for translating the CSV into shipping rates.
Anyone who would like to beta test a "CSV shipping rate" type app, let us know / shoot an email to support@pogodan.com. If there's some interest and commonality of feature requirements we'd be happy to put something together.
Your right in that different companies have different format / rules around shipping. This is exactly the reason why we need a CSV upload. No one App is going to be able to model the range of different shipping rule scenarios that meet everyone requirements. However, most people can boil their shipping costs down to a single line per product variant for specific destinations, and as a result, can translate to into a line in a CSV file.
Shopify seems pretty happy to take an enormous number of subscriptions but actually do very little to improve the basic functionality of the platform. They are very keen to promote ever more enhancements to the App interface because they make money out of selling Apps. But most Shopify clients do not have available the time, effort or resources to get into the building and maintaining of Apps.
Really basic functionality like a shipping CSV upload, or full complete backup and restore, covering products, theme, collections, customers, pages, orders etc etc etc are things you would expect a platform like Shopify to provide as basic but are sadly missing, and yes there are backup Apps, and no they are not very good!!
Is Shopify actually going to do anything about the CSV upload? or are they going to just sit there and ignore the needs of a large number of fee-paying subscribers.
And by the way, while they are at it provide a comprehensive backup and restore capability.
Such things are fundamentals for any IT system, a real update in this issue would be appreciated.
I would really like to see something like this too. I have hundreds of individual shipping rates across dozens of countries and weight bands, and manually uploading these rates would take ages. Not to mention the room for human error.
There must be a way to import and export shipping rates via CSV.
So we started work on an app that will allow you to edit your delivery profiles with a CSV/spreadsheet style interface. We're working on importing/creating new rates as the next feature. If anyone is interested in trying out as a beta tester, ping us at support@pogodan.com. Thanks!
Thanks Lisa - I've just sent an email 🙂
While importing products, add extraordinary Tag then importing is done, Go to Product > Inventory > Add filter > Type your extraordinary tag and search. After that, download the result. Change warehouse with excel or gsheet, import inventory again. Wohala, your warehouse change to other.
What does this have to do with shipping rates?
P.S. I think you meant to type "Voila" not Wohala.
Hi, @Paul66!
I recommend CSR app.
CSR can set your shipping rates table via CSV file.
And when you need edit shipping rates, you can edit them easily to upload the new CSV file.
https://apps.shopify.com/csv-shipping-rates
I hope it will be helpful.
It's a shame that CSR costs $15.90 per month, especially given that most shipping changes are made annually at most. That equates to about $200 to upload a CSV each year. Not great, but there are not many alternatives out there...
What a small world, I've purchased from your store in the past! But yes, the fact CSR is $15.90 plus needing an Advanced Plan at £259/mo makes it unaffordable for a small business owner such as myself.
Small world indeed! 😁
Shopify should really be providing this functionality as part of the existing subscription. It's basic stuff, really. The fact that it's not included means that the 3rd party developers can charge almost whatever they like!
Hey:) We did a csv import app that does not have recurring charges and does not need the Advanced Plan, it's at: https://apps.shopify.com/toolify-shipping 🙂
Royal Mail updates their pricing yearly. Currently I'm having to update over 70 shipping rates manually because Shopify has no way of bulk updating them. In contrast my client was previously on IONOS and their system pulls in the prices from RM automatically so always gets the most up to date pricing.
How can Shopify claim to be "The platform commerce is built on" when it doesn't even offer something as simple as this.
Hi everybody,
Just wanted to let you all know we are in the process of creating a Shopify app that allows you to import shipping rates through CSV files. In addition, we are adding multiple direct API connections to multiple carriers and shipping platforms to import the rates directly from them. After the import, you can create shipping profiles, group shipping zones based on locations and/or rates, you can round your shipping rates to any number you want, add a margin markup percentage to cover any unexpected cost. Most of the work has already been done, but I would love to hear and understand your requirements when it comes to the CSV import.
If you are interested in our new app and are willing to share your requirements, please email me and I will come back to you. You can reach me at sander@theecommercespecialist.com
Thanks in advance
Sander
Hi All,
Just wanted to let the Shopify Community know that we are currently finalizing a new Shopify app. The Shipping Rate Importer app allows you to import your carrier rates to Shopify through a direct Sendcloud api connection or a csv upload. More direct API options are coming soon. We are currently looking for beta testers, if you are interested, please fill in the below form 🙂
https://beta.shipping-rate-importer.com/
Some more information about the Shipping Rate Importer shopify app.
This tool allows you to import and structure your shipping rates from multiple carriers, and easily export them to your Shopify store
please send a link to the app,
thank you.
It's been almost 4 years. I don't think shopify will ever have this feature on. Seems like a time to switch platform..
It is CSR (https://apps.shopify.com/csv-shipping-rates).
CSR supports to upload your own's shipping rates CSV file.
Doesn't look like it unfortunately.
To all those posting 3rd party apps as solutions for this issue also look further back previous 'solutions' that are no longer found as they have been abandoned. This function needs to be in the core of the product not a 3rd party app. In addition this being a 3rd party app if the api delays it will seriously impact conversion rate on the shop store at the most critical step of the sale. IT MUST be part of the core product.
Why is this so hard to develop it's not some major feature - you have a table internally just make an interface to edit it / upload to a csv. I had posted previously an even more ideal option to just have rate of item + weight calc but clearly that's never going to happen.
Dear shopify - our next renewal is up june 2023 and we normally update for 3 years the 2133 USD option. We are going to have to evaluate whether to update this time or move on. Not liking the absence of response or any sign of interest on this of late.
I've been asking Shoppify for years, but they don't seem to have any plans to do this.
So, I started looking for an app.
However, this was the only app that allowed me to set up a table of shipping rates by weight and region from a CSV file.
I installed the app and was able to set the correct shipping rates for all regions of the world.
So I'm just trying to make that known.
Hey:) The link to the app above expired, it's now at: https://apps.shopify.com/toolify-shipping
Can't believe this didn't exist four years ago. Quite unbelievable that it doesn't exist now. #shoddify
