Shipping rates

I have 4 different shipping profiles. Lets say profile “x” is 20 euros shipping and profile “y” is 15 euro shipping. When the customer adds products of profile "x" and profile "y" in his/her cart, then the two shipping rates are summed up together in the cart, becoming a total of 35 euro instead of the highest rate that would be logical, 20 euros.

I want to fix this by charging the highest shipping rate in euros that counts at that time, instead of summing multiple rates. How can I fix this?

Hey @Kaan6 !

You're absolutely right—when a customer adds products from different shipping profiles, Shopify automatically adds up the shipping rates, which isn’t always ideal. Right now, there’s no built-in way to charge only the highest shipping rate instead of summing them up.

Unless Shopify introduces an update for this, the best option would be to explore third-party apps that allow shipping rate customisation based on product type. That way, you can set it up to charge only the highest rate instead of combining them.

Hi @Jagruti_Naveen. Thank you for the reply!

Are there any apps that you know where this problem can be solved? Do you have a recommendation?

Hi @Kaan6

Doing a quick search you might want take a look at

ShipMagic: This app enables merchants to configure shipping rules that prevent rate summing, ensuring customers are charged the highest applicable rate instead of a combined total.

Hi @SeoulCommerce, thanks for the idea!

I just figured out that most of the apps do not allow this custom option if you don't have CCS function in Shopify. That is a bit of a shame honestly.
