Hi.

I am looking for some guidance on best practices when setting up shipping for our store.  We have 3 products on our site. We have 1 location we are shipping from.  We would like to offer Free shipping on Domestic orders over $50.  Orders less than $50, we would like carrier and rate apps to calculate the shipping based on weight and location.

 

We set up a rate as Economy transit time, Price is $0,  based on order price minimum $50.

We also setup Carrier and App Rates for USPS Services with First Class Package, Parcel Select Ground, Priority Mail checked off.

We are finding that sometimes orders placed over $50 are getting Free shipping, but not all orders over $50, but cannot figure out why.  

Would appreciate any guidance.  Thanks!

It's great to hear that you are setting up shipping for your store. Based on the information you have provided, it sounds like you have set up the shipping rates correctly. However, there might be some additional factors at play that could be causing the issue you are experiencing. Here are a few things you might want to consider like checking if the products are correctly assigned to the shipping rates, whether the shipping address is within the eligible area and the available shipping options at the checkout.

Great job on setting up your shipping settings so far. I understand that you are still having issues as your free shipping over $50 rate is still being charged to some customers. It's likely that your shipping rate is not being applied to locations. To check this, you can head over to your Shopify admin and navigate to Orders > Abandoned checkouts and select the orders that did not offer the free shipping option. Keep in mind the customer locations of these checkouts, and confirm that they are all domestic. Then, head over to your Shopify admin and navigate to Settings > Shipping and delivery and ensure that your shipping zones and rates are applied

 

Feel free to share some more information regarding your shipping settings and I'd be happy to take a closer look. For instance, do you have any custom shipping profiles set up? Did you notice any specific trends with customers who are not being offered free shipping?
