Introduction - What is the Shopify Fulfillment Network (SFN)?

 

The Shopify Fulfillment Network (SFN) is a Shopify owned and operated fulfillment service for store owners.This enables merchants to save a significant amount of time by relying on SFN to facilitate faster fulfillment, and shipping. Not only does SFN save time, it also allows you to worry about one less thing knowing your products are in a safe, trusted location and will be delivered to your customers in a timely manner.

 

 

Criteria & Requirements

 

There are certain criteria and requirements to gain eligibility for SFN. If your store does not meet these criteria then it’s possible your application might not be considered.

 

Review the following criteria to check if SFN is the right fit for your business:

 

  • Your business sells in the United States or Canada.
  • You ship a minimum of 3 orders per day.
  • You don't sell any regulated or perishable products.

What if I already have a 3rd party fulfilment (3PL) set up? 

 

If you already have a 3PL set up and that works for you and your business, that is great and moving to SFN is not a necessity of being on the Shopify platform.

SFN is available to global Shopify businesses fulfilling to US and Canadian consumers.

 

Pricing

 

The pricing for SFN differs across a few different variables. One way is a Zone based pricing method. This is for the USA where SFN has divided the country into geographical zones and for each zone a shipment crosses, the price of shipping increases. Because of this, the more SFN warehouses stock your products, the lower the shipping costs will be because there is less travel through different zones.

Something to keep in mind is that the billing cycle for SFN is not the same as the Shopify billing cycle for your store. While the SFN charges and monthly Shopify charges are not on the same cycle, it is still within your Shopify plan where there are no hidden fees or extra charges. 

 

SFN charges are billed in two different ways: per fulfillment and per month. Pricing consists of the following components:

 

Per Fulfillment:

  • Picking and packing
  • Packing supplies
  • Shipping

Per month:

  • Storage
  • Special projects

The billing cycle starts when the SFN app is first installed for your store., and every 30 days, you’ll be charged for the storage space used to stock inventory, and for any special projects you might be working on. This could involve custom packaging or one off products etc.

How do I get SFN Support?

 

  • All merchants get access to a team of dedicated Fulfillment Support Specialists. 
  • Merchants with less than 40 orders a day get access to a dedicated team of fulfillment account managers.
