Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
I've just had a weird problem on our distributors site. He's been running fine for a few weeks, then suddenly everything is showing out of stock and yet there is plenty. It's affecting every product.
I've hunted through the settings regarding location, shipping etc but can't see anything that could globally do this.
I can fix things by allowing individual products to sell whilst out of stock, then they will show up and can be ordered but it's obviously not the solution.
We don't have any apps affecting this, or dropshipping, or multiple locations... just a very basic shopify site with a refresh theme.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks,
Hobby Trax

Hi Zopi!
Ah ha! Yes I think you're onto something there. We don't have multiple shipping locations however we did have another problem with the shipping settings. I had set US and Canada rates which initially worked, but although creating new products would solve this problem and show them in stock we quickly found nothing could be shipped anywhere!
I've obviously done something wrong in the shipping charges here but I can't initially see what. I've deleted it all and started again with just US shipping and it's working.
I think something had gone wrong with the shipping settings which was preventing Shopify from seeing any stock available.
I'll have a read through the shipping settings again and try setting a Canada rate again.
If anyone else is having this problem, look at your shipping rates and try deleting them and starting again.
Many thanks for your help.
Trevor.
Just updated the refresh theme to 15.2.0 and it's just the same.
Hi @hobbytrax,
Sorry to hear about your experience. Generally, the most common cause is related to inventory location settings in Shopify stores. When you have products with multiple inventory locations, Shopify’s inventory stock can get confused and show the wrong number of available items.
