Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
I work in a beverage shop and we ship our beverages with an online store. One of the products we would like to do is create a mix-and-match option where customers can customize their order by selecting their own beverages that they want in a 12-pack. Is there a way we can keep an inventory of each of those beverages inside of the 12-pack option?
You can set up a custom bundle with BYOB - Build Your Own Bundles. Our bundles exist as products with a custom template, where customers can select the items they want.
We offer both variant and discount code modes. The bundle price is adjusted by either variant or discount code. With discount code mode, the customers are redirected to the checkout with the discount code applied.
Here’s a sample bundle for your reference.
thats close to what we are looking for but not quite. For online, we wanted to sell bundles exclusively, and not sell individual products (like an "8-pack of your choosing"). How will this work with that?
If you are only selling bundles but not individual products, you'll be using our variant mode. By default, BYOB uses variants to adjust the bundle price. When a customer builds a bundle, a variant is created with a suitable price and weight. When a customer builds a bundle, a variant is created with a suitable price and weight. Think of it as a note to record selected items. You can try this sample bundle - buy any 3 items for $100.
In the default way, the bundle is added to the cart as 1 item. After the order is paid, the individual items are added to the order as free items. This is handled by the order edit process. After that, the inventory quantities are updated. This default mode can also support a price discount
If you don't want to sell the individual products, you can add a tag "BYOB disabled products" to them. We'll try to use a script to disable the add-to-cart button and change the button text to Not Available. This script is not finished yet but I think it's a feasible approach. Not difficult too.
