Hello,

I am about being functional with my business on Shopify however for the Shopify payment, I do not have a SSN but I have LLC in US, a bank account and EIN number for my LLC in US but I am not from the US. How can I proceed with Shopify Payments because the form asks for SSN which I do now have. Could you please assist me on this.

Thanks for sharing your queries with us here in the Shopify Community.

If you're looking to set up Shopify Payments for use in the USA from outside of that country there are a few conditions that you would need to meet.

The most important among these would be having a US tax ID and that your business has physical operations on US soil.

You can check out the full list of requirements we'd look at for this situation below.

  1. Government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, etc. - non-US ID may be accepted)
  2. A Tax ID in the United States:
    EIN if LLC/Corp
    SSN if  Sole Proprietor
  3. Business registration document (Registered in the US with the government)
  4. Proof that the business is actually operating from the US. 
  5. A USD checking account opened with a real US banking institution, located on US soil.

Hello,

I have a new issue, my Shopify doesn’t calculate taxes at checkout. I have gone through all available manual back and forth, compared my site with friends to see what I missed and all boxes are checked and all is set as it should but still taxes aren’t calculated at check out.

Can you fix this?
