Shopify Payments for non US resident

Just for you to know: I’m a non US resident, I have an LLC in the US, I have a US business bank account and I do drop shipping.

I want to start accepting payments with Shopify Payments because it is in my opinion #1 and other payments methods are just worse. I texted the support and they told me that I need to send proofs of my warehouses, but the thing is that I do drop shipping and I do not have any warehouses. I use “CJdropshipping” as a supplier.

I saw so many dropshipping stores that do not have warehouses but they have Shopify Payments set up. How do they do that?

Hi @Saule,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I'm happy to provide some assistance with locating a payment provider for the shop, to ensure this gets resolved. To confirm I'm fully understanding, do you currently have physical operations (i.e an office) in the United States?

If notI encourage you to check out this complete list of all available third-party payment providers in your region. Shopify has integrated with over 100 different third-party payment providers to allow you to continue accepting credit cards online.

For any questions that you may have regarding a specific payment provider, I encourage you to connect with them directly. They will be able to share more information with you and answer any other questions that you may have.

For more information on this, you can check our Third-Party Payment Providers documentation as it touches on this further.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

What do you mean by physical operations? I have a registered agent in the US but I haven’t made any sales yet.

Hi @Saule,

Thanks for the prompt response!

To provide some clarification, physical operations would mean that you have an office or warehouse that's operating within the United States, for example. The business would need to be physically operating out of the United States in order to proceed with potentially using Shopify Payments as a payment gateway.

If you don't currently have this, I'd encourage you to check out this complete list of all available third-party payment providers in your region. Shopify has integrated with over 100 different third-party payment providers to allow you to continue accepting credit cards online.

So if I have a registered agent - I am still not eligible? What proofs will I have to send? And also how other drop shippers connect Shopify Payments? I know a lot of drop shippers who do not have any offices and warehouses but they still use shopify payments somehow. What proofs of the office or warehouse will I have to send you? If my supplier has their warehouse in the US - is it enough to connect Shopify Payments? Thank you

Hi @Saule ,

As far as I know, if Shopify payments are off the table for you 😅, the smartest move is to dive deep into your target market and scout for the top APM (Alternative Payment Method) that resonates with your audience. 🕵️‍♂️

💡Remember, tapping into market-specific APMs can skyrocket your reach by tenfold!

🚀🎯Next up, figure out the best strategy to snag these APMs. For instance, by setting up business entities in the US, UK, or Europe, you unlock the treasure chest to the most coveted APMs through aggregate payment processors.

🗝💼 Here’s a sneak peek at some of them:

- Stripe is like a magic wand for Klarna, Bancontact, iDEAL, GiroPay, Sofort, EPS, ClearPay, AdyerPay, Affirm, p24, Blik, Cartes Bancaires, Multibanco… and the list goes on. 🎩

- Adyen rolls out the red carpet for Twint, Vipps, MobilePay, Klarna, Bancontact, iDEAL, GiroPay, Sofort, EPS, ClearPay, and a whole lot more.

🚀🛣️ Now, the fun part: integrating these gems with your Shopify store. Circle back and thank me later 🤗

if you look with your own eyes, you will find more.. 😎

😉Happy Selling mates...! 🥳🛍
