Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi,
i have set up klarna via shopify payments. this has worked well for over a year now. since 21.09.2022, it no longer works at our store, as if out of nowhere - our customers get the following error message when they want to use klarna payment methods:
"There was an issue processing your payment. Try again or use a different payment method."
Does anyone have similar problems or has anyone already been able to solve this?
Or is it better to integrate Klarna as an external payment method again? (Which also has some disadvantages with our store in several languages and several currencies).
Kind regards,
Kollin
Hi @kollin,
Thank you for getting in touch and I am sorry to hear that you're having this issue.
Can you tell me which country you and your store are based in please? Have you been able to process any payments through Klarna since the 21st, or is it seeming to fail every time? How often is this issue occurring?

Hi @OceansUmhlanga,
Are you seeing the same error message that @kollin shared in their post? Do you have Klarna enabled via Shopify Payments, and if so, in which country are you based?

Turns out (according to Klarna), my stores base currency (USD) doesn't match my location (CAD). I did that as my business is 90% from the US.
Hi @OceansUmhlanga,
Right, I see. If this is what Klarna's support team are telling you that I believe this is not something you'd be able to work around without switching your store's default currency back to CAD. Had a significant portion of your sales been processed with Klarna or do you offer other payment methods that are more popular?

Hi @OceansUmhlanga,
Okay, great. Are you using Shopify Payments to accept credit card payments on your store? You'll be able to display prices and accept payments in multiple currencies using our gateway.

Hi @OceansUmhlanga,
Right, I see. It's worth noting that our Shop Pay Installments feature is only available to merchants in the United States, so even if you sell in USD you would not be able to make use of the feature if you're based in Canada.
Can you tell me more about the products you sell, and why you're keen on a pay later option to offer to your customers?
