Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
I've just switched over payment provider from a 3rd party provider to Shopify Payments for my store. I understand Shopify Payments is now integrated with Stripe, but I also have my own Stripe account I would like to connect so I can view payments data within the Stripe dashboard. However I cannot see any option anywhere to allow this.
I need to see payment data within Stripe dashboard specifically.
Just viewing payments data within Shopify won't suffice.
This is because typically with other processes, we use STRIPE as it gives us greater flexibility on payouts. It also gives us information on failed payments and refunds, and is more reliable for reconciliation than other payment methods. One way we reconcile payments in our team is comparing the transaction data against what we actually receive, typically comparing STRIPE to Shopify.

Hi @mpylvc431,
No problem at all! As for viewing the breakdown of each payout, you can do so by heading into the Payments section of the Shopify admin. We have a great Viewing Your Payouts document that touches on this further, that I'd encourage you to check out. It outlines however, that you can:

Hi @mpylvc431,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community. I'm happy to provide some assistance with Shopify Payments, to ensure this gets resolved.
To share some insight, Shopify Payments is considered to be our premier payment gateway offered to merchants on the platform. While we do indicate that it's 'Powered by Stripe', all payments would be processed within the platform directly as opposed to within Stripe.
Additionally, you would not be able to connect your personal Stripe account to Shopify Payments and therefore, payment data would not populate within Stripe. While I can completely understand the limitations this may cause, I would be happy to share this feedback with our Developers. We're always looking for ways to improve the platform. Hi Blair,
Thank you very much for the detailed explanation. I now understand the limitations of the platform a lot better and will just try to adapt. Are we able to get a breakdown for each payout and where we would get this information?
Many thanks,
Marlon
