Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi Guy's
I'm setting up a Shopify website which I hope you fulfill orders in the USA by Amazon FBA and in Hong Kong by 3PL. I have linked my stock to AMZ and what I understand when I received an order onto the website I can either choose to fulfill by Amazon Market Place or the other 3PL - which I will then fulfill base on the customer's location - is this correct?
Pretty much yes, if you're linking Amazon FBA via the Shopify Amazon Fulfillment Service, this is the basic flow:
1) You'll set your products to be managed by Amazon Marketplace Web
2) When an order from the US comes in, you request the fulfillment, which triggers the fulfillment request to Amazon (and when Amazon fulfills it, it will update your order with tracking).
3) For an order outside of the US, the fulfillment request will fail, so what you would do is fulfill via your 3PL, and then add the tracking and mark fulfilled when it ships.
You can't really "choose" where to fulfill, but since FBA orders connected to Amazon US can only fulfill in US, you'll have the option to fill the international orders externally.
For details on the setup with Amazon FBA + a way to automate, here's how I do it: https://speedboostr.com/automate-order-fulfillment-on-shopify.
