Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
We are looking for a solution for items that constantly dip into OOS to show as a zero inventory rather than a negative number. We have a popular product that regularly appears to be out of stock and over sold. When customers arrive at the site they will see a positive number when they place an order, which places them in the queue for the item. We manufacture on-site, so they are guaranteed to receive the order, but it does take time in the production line for fulfillment. If the customer comes back to the site, they may see a negative number on the PDP which prompts a call asking if there order was bumped.
What we would like is for the inventory number in the site to stop displaying at 0 even when the inventory is below. We do use the back end of the site for inventory forecasting, so the negative number is still important to our process, but the front end of the site doesn't require showing anything other than 0 for customer confidence.
Is there a hidden setting at the Plus tier that I may be overlooking?
Thank you
Hey, @AWB-EL.
Thank you for reaching out and posting this question!
If you're using a Shopify-supported theme, then our Theme Support team can assist you with customizing the theme and removing the inventory count from the Online store. While we're unable to provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community, we'd be happy to assist you with a customization request through live chats. Simply visit the Shopify Help Center and login to your account to create a support request.
That being said, if you're using a third-party theme and your store is subscribed to Shopify Plus, then our Theme Support team can help explore this customization for your theme. However, if our Theme Support team determines that this isn't something that they can assist you with, then you'll need to consider hiring a developer to assist you with this task. Should you need help finding a developer, then we'd recommend taking a look at our directory of certified developers on Shopify Partners.
