sorting shipping settings

When adding packages in the Shipping Settings, is there a way to sort or change the order of the packages. I would like to have the more popular box sizes at the top of the list.

My name is John and I'm a Guru here at Shopify!

Thanks for posting here about your needs in regard to the admin functionality around sorting your saved packages.

I've looked into this and tested it out on my own store to be sure; at the moment it's not possible to sort these packages either in your shipping settings or when fulfilling from the order itself.

What I have done on this for you already is to lodge a feature request with our product support team so they know this is something our merchants are looking for in future.

For now, if you absolutely had to re-order these packages, I think they would need to be deleted and then re-entered in the order of your choice. This is less-than-ideal obviously but we like to give all the info we can on any possibilities.

If there is anything else you feel is missing from the platform or we can help out on anything else just let us know and we'll keep working with you here. 🙂

I agree, sorting the list of available saved packages should absolutely be implemented.  I'm shocked this isn't possible!  I think the list shows in the order the packages were entered, correct?  So, if I wanted my packages sorted I should delete them all and enter in the correct order?  Please advise!

 It's very important to be able to change the order of the Saved packages and have the more popular box sizes at the top of the list!!! Hope this can be done soon.

Add us to the list, very surprised these cannot be reordered. There needs to be some logic baked in here, because when a new package is added, it is expected to be nested with similar, so when purchasing a shipping label, or just when managing our list of packages on hand, it would be easy to find where expected. Our list of packages is getting bigger and bigger as time goes on, and it's less and less desirable to rename and reconfigure all the previous packages each time so the list looks normalized (thats the workaround). Please let these be drag and drop. You use this functionality in many places, should be a very easy fix for you and go a long way for millions of shopkeepers.

Add us to the list of accounts that would like some sorting feature on boxes.  It is a royal PITA to have to scroll through them.  And I REALLY don't want to pay someone to enter them all over again in a particular order. Mostly because that isn't sustainable.  For example, this week we are getting new flat packs that will replace an older option. The two will co-exist for a while and then one will fall away.  But with the current solution, the old one is at the top, the new one is at the bottom and then the old one will fall away, leaving my commonly used box type at the bottom.

I only have 38 shipping options to choose from currently and have only checked like once per year to see if there is any way to be able to reorganize this.  It should be simple database management and sophomore computer scientist level coding.

I do like the Shopify system but it really is odd that some of these simple, but very useful improvements, never get made...

Shopify dev team really have been a disappointment. So many simple things that would improve sales and productivity that they ignore or pass off to 3rd party apps that charge you for basic things. Need to find a new platform

As of today all of my packages are suddenly sorted by ALPHABETICAL order, as opposed to by size, which I painstakingly set up manually. Why the hell are my 10" boxes first on the list and my 6x4 envelope last? This is beyond frustrating, I can't believe some of the basic functionality that is missing from this platform.

Oh my god...

On top of that, when I add a custom package, the dialogue now defaults to CM even though I have my system set to imperial units. On top of that, I now have to uncheck "save for later use" every time I use a custom box. I just had to reship three packages because of this screw up. FIX THIS. God why do you guys mess with stuff just to make it worse???
