Stricter US enforcement regarding item descriptions and no Shopify solution

​Starting November 12, 2024, stricter enforcement will be implemented in the US regarding item descriptions. Item descriptions must be specific and accurate to be considered acceptable. Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to customize the item description for customs forms in Shopify.

The product name you've set in Shopify is used as the item description. Therefore, this will no longer work for US shipments starting November 12.

Shopify says that there will come a general update but this only affects US-based Shopify shops utilizing Shopify Shipping.

So all non-US merchants that use Shopify and ship to the US, have to manually adjust shipping labels. In our case, with thousands of US orders shipping from the Netherlands, this is absolutely insane.

Does anyone know if there is a work around for this?
