Unable to remove Google Pay as payment method

Hi,

I've read a lot of Shopify articles how to remove the G Pay option, but in my settings I do not have the option to manage/edit the Shopify payments.

What can be the problem?

if you can’t see the settings for Shopify Payments then you might not be logged in as the account owner. You’ll want to double check that for sure.

Seconding @casey-customs' reply here in regards to store permissions, are you the account owner, or a staff member of the store in question?

Only the account owner of a store can make changes to Shopify Payments settings, and this can be done by navigating to Settings > Payments > Shopify Payments > Click the Manage button. So even if you're a staff member with a sensitive permission on the store to allow you to Manage other payment settings, this still won't allow you to access the Shopify Payments settings to untick the Google Pay option, as seen below.

 

If you're an account owner but you're having issues accessing the Shopify Payments settings of your store however, you can troubleshoot using the steps below:

• Try to access your Shopify admin via an incognito window
• Or, you can use your usual browser but to clear the browser's cookies and cache prior to accessing your Shopify admin
• You can also try another browser. For example, if you're using Safari, you can try using Chrome or Firefox
• You can also try to use another device, such as a different laptop or computer, or your mobile or tablet
