Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hello,
I am new to Shopify, I am based in Europe and my market is within the USA.
I wonder about Payment and Payout methods.
If I choose for example Stripe as a payment provider - this will be my payout method as well, right?
And if I activate a Paypal account, this in my opinion, means that I should have all the 4 payment methods covered by Stripe + Paypal on the side. Am I correct?
What do I have to do if I want to add Google Pay and other express check-out payment to the methods? I don't see any option in "Payments".
Thanks
Hi there, @Eostre.
Welcome to Shopify! This is such an exciting time as an entrepreneur. I'm happy to help you out with your questions.
To see which payment gateways are available for your store, you can select your country on this page (you should select the country you're located in, rather than where you'll be marketing to). If Shopify Payments is available in your country, I recommend selecting that as it's the simplest way to accept payments online.
Regarding payouts, as you mentioned, whichever payment gateway you choose for your store is where you'll receive your payouts from. If you enable Shopify Payments on your store, your payouts will come from Shopify Payments; if you enable Stripe, your payouts will come from Stripe, etc. The one exception is PayPal (which you can have on your store in addition to your primary payment gateway), where you'll receive payouts from PayPal directly. You can read more about PayPal on Shopify in this help document.
For accelerated checkouts, each have their own requirements. For example, Google Pay can only be used if you're using Shopify Payments, and you can only use Apple Pay if you're using one of the following as your payment provider: Shopify Payments, Stripe, First Data Payeezy, Authorize.net, CyberSource, or Braintree. Check out this page for more information on each accelerated checkout and their requirements.
Lastly, I'd love to hear more about your business! What products will you be selling? I can definitely share some resources and advice if you're interested.
I hope this information helps!

Hi @Greta,
Thank you so much for the clarifications!
Can I set up Paypal as the only method of payment/payout?
Thank You!
Hi, @Eostre!
It's my pleasure! You can absolutely use PayPal as your only payment provider, and that means your payouts would come from one place (which will be easier to keep track of). Many merchants do this for the simplicity. You can check out this help document for the steps to add PayPal to your store.
Please let me know if you have any other questions and I'd be happy to help!
