Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hello! I plan to use the third-party provider "Yoo.Kassa" in my clients' online stores.
"Yoo.Kassa" is the most popular payment provider in Russia. It belongs to the largest bank in the country – "Sberbank". All sellers from Russia are required to comply with Federal Law #54 and must exchange sales data with the Federal Tax Service. Only "Yoo.Kassa" supports data exchange with the Federal Tax Service in Russia.
I have a few questions:
1. Can I accept payments in multiple currencies around the world using only a third-party provider? In the guide, I found the following information: "To sell in multiple currencies, you need to enable Shopify Payments in your online store." Here is the link: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/cross-border/faq . Can I only use Yoo.Kassa?
2. Is "Yoo.Kassa" a direct or external supplier (in Shopify terminology)?
I will be grateful for any help! Thanks!
UPD:
Here you can find information about integrating Yoo.Kassa into Shopify: https://yookassa.ru/integration/new-shopify-yookassa/
Hi there @Svyatoslav!
Don here from Shopify.
Thanks for taking the time to share your query here in the Shopify Community.
I had a look for the gateway you mentioned here in our list of payment gateways available for use with Shopify in Russia but was not able to locate it.
As this is not one of the gateways that have created an approved integration for use with Shopify, we wouldn't be able to offer much in the way of support or info from here ourselves.
Any questions you have about their integration would probably best be answered by their own support team as a result.
While we don't have definitive info available on this gateway, my assumption would be that it operates as an external (offsite) gateway as we don't have any record here of their internal integration with Shopify, though again, they would be best positioned to confirm this for you.
The gateway provider should also be able to answer any questions you have about the currency or currencies in which they can support sales.
I had a look around online for any support options they provide and found this contact page you can use.
You mentioned you were working on stores for your clients; have you been working as a Partner for a while or are you starting out in this line of work?
Regards,
Don

Hi, Don.
Thank you for your answer!
"Yoo.Kassa" supports different currencies and accepts payments from other countries. The most important question is, can I use this gateway to accept payments from different countries? Is this not against the Shopify rules? I was scared by the phrase: "To sell in multiple currencies, you need to enable Shopify Payments in your online store", because Shopify Payments does not work in Russia
I'm just starting to work towards developing stores on Shopify. I really like Shopify and I want to popularize this SaaS platform in our country.
Hi again @Svyatoslav!
Don from Shopify once more.
Thanks for getting back to me here and for clarifying what you needed to know specifically here!
I checked in with a member of our specialist teams internally and they confirmed that multicurrency support, in the sense of being able to check out in different currencies, would only be possible with the use of Shopify Payments (where available).
This is due to how the core admin functionality differentiates between store and customer currencies and at the moment, this is only available with Shopify Payments.
What I can do for you from here would be to file a feature request for this functionality with our developer team on your behalf.
If you can share some info on what you'd like to be able to do, why this matters for your (or your clients') businesses, and a link to any of the stores where this is relevant I can use this to file that request for you.
It could be that this external service offers a currency switcher, where customers can see different prices in different currencies but then only be able to check out in your store's 'home' currency (as set in settings > general).
Again, to be sure of how this works your best bet would be to reach out to them directly as they will know their service and processes.
That's great to hear your enthusiasm for working on developing Shopify stores!
Would you have checked out our Partner Academy yet? It offers a number of courses and resources you can use to test, improve and display your skills as a Shopify Partner.
You might also like to check out our Partner Blog, as there's a number of guides and articles to browse there.
All the best!

Can we send a request to implement multicurrency support for third-party providers? I will be glad if you help in this matter!
UPD: The resident of Russia (a legal entity, LLC, etc.) can only accept payments in rubles. The best option is to send a request to the developers to implement support for Shopify Payments in Russia. Shopify will have to comply with Federal Law No. 54. I don't know if it's possible.

At the moment, I have two customers (companies) who have agreed to develop an online store on the Shopify platform. Customers plan to sell their products in Russia and Europe. At the moment, I am developing a universal template. This template will be used by all my customers. To view the template, follow the link: https://ta-project-22052020.myshopify.com/
The problem is that Federal Law No. 54 (54-FZ) is in force in our country. The law requires all sellers to report to the Federal Tax Service on their sales (product, cost, cash register equipment ID, transaction ID, etc.). Only large companies with a staff of developers can implement full support for this federal law. One of the few companies that has implemented support for 54-FZ is Yoo.Kassa (Sberbank). Yoo.Kassa provides a variety of SDKs and ready-made solutions for integration into most CMS. Follow the link to see the full list (for example, SaaS): https://yookassa.ru/integration/saas/
In other words, all Russian customers need to connect this payment processor to accept payments in rubles.
UPD: To accept payments in other currencies, the CEO must register the company in the European Union or Cyprus and open an account there.
Some questions:
1. Can I use Yoo. Kassa to accept payments in Russia?
2. If I want to sell products in dollars and euros (multicurrency), do I need to launch a second store with Shopify Payments enabled?
2.1. If you need to launch an additional store with Shopify Payments to support multicurrency, will companies need to open a legal entity in the European Union?
3. Can I use Yoo.Kasa on a subdomain ru.site.com, and Shopify Payments (or PayPal) on a subdomain en.site.com? Shopify Payments (or PayPal) will be registered to a company from the European Union or Cyprus.
I'll try to write to Sberbank's support service and find out about their built-in multicurrency handler.
Thank you very much for your answers!
P.S. I think it makes sense to join the partner program and develop Shopify in Russia. However, I need to understand the integration of payment systems first. This is critical functionality.
Hello again! I contacted the lawyers and representatives of Sberbank.
Yoo.Kassa integration with Shopify works as follows:
1. The developer implements a currency selector on the site
2. The checkout page (shopping cart) displays the selected currency. For example, a dollar.
3. On the bank payment page of the order, the amount in the main currency is displayed. In my case, it's rubles.
4. The site user pays for the order in rubles. The user's bank converts rubles into dollars at its own rate.
Accordingly, the total amount of the order may differ.
A reasonable question arises. Can I fully use Yoo.Kassa to accept payments, provided that the total order amount on the bank's payment page will be displayed in rubles?
Thank you so much, Don! And sorry for my English.
Hi all,
were you able to get it running properly? What was your experience?
We are also considering to use yookassa as it seems most promising to sell in Russia. I saw that there is a tutorial guide: https://yookassa.ru/integration/shopify/help
Thanks for any insights 🙂
Best regards!
