What are solutions for payment processing issues on e-commerce sites?

Hello all,

We have a Shopify website that is pending launch for almost a year because of an issue of processing the payments. This error happens when we try to complete transactions:

We have tried to make payments with different cards - Visa and Mastercard - but the issue continues. We were advised by Shopify support to register with Cardinal Commerce and enable the 3D secure on our payment gateway (Braintree). We successfully registered and enabled the 3D secure with Cardinal but the issue is still happening - we cannot complete transactions.

Has anybody been through this before? What's your advice? We appreciate any help.

Many thanks

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with processing payments on your Shopify website. The error message you shared suggests that the issue might be related to the credit card processing system, specifically the AVS (Address Verification System) and CVV (Card Verification Value) checks. These checks are used to ensure that the billing address and security code provided by the customer match those on file with the issuing bank.

You mentioned that you have already registered with Cardinal Commerce and enabled 3D Secure on your payment gateway, but the issue persists. Here are a few more troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Contact your payment gateway provider (Braintree) to confirm that the AVS and CVV checks are enabled on your account, and that the information you have entered matches that on file with your bank.

  2. Make sure that your payment gateway is properly integrated with your Shopify store. Check that the payment gateway settings in your Shopify admin panel are correct and that the payment gateway is properly connected.

  3. Try using a different payment gateway to process transactions on your Shopify store. Shopify offers a range of payment gateway options, and switching to a different one might help resolve the issue.

  4. Check that your Shopify store is using a valid SSL certificate. SSL certificates help ensure secure data transmission between your website and the payment gateway.

  5. Reach out to Shopify support for further assistance. Shopify has a dedicated support team that can help diagnose and resolve issues with payment processing.

I hope this helps!
