Where do I put the personal customs code?

I received my first order from South Korea but it’s asking me to put the personal customs code on the shipping label. How do I do that? Do I write it on the package or enter it somewhere when I purchase the shipping label?

Hey, @Bossup!

Great question, I'm happy to help. The Personal Customs Code (PCCC) is automatically added to shipping labels purchased through Shopify Shipping or fulfilled through Oberlo. If you purchase shipping labels through a third-party shipping carrier, you would need to contact the carrier directly to determine how to add the PCCC number. You can read more about this in our help document

By the way, since you mentioned that this is your first order from South Korea, I thought you might be interested in Shopify Markets, if you haven't set it up already. Shopify Markets helps you scale and optimize your international strategy with what you need to easily identify, create, and manage international markets from your Shopify admin. You can read more about Shopify Markets in this blog post, and check out our help document for how to get started.

I hope this helps, and please let me know if you have any other questions!

This is NOT solved for shipments to businesses.  We were completely prevented from converting a draft to an order with the PCCC requirement. We are on Shopify Plus. The customer is properly linked to the Company in the profile.

Korea business registration format is XXX-XX-XXXXX (10 digits) and the PCCC format is PXXXXXXXXXXXX  (P followed by 12 digits) so we forced field validation by adding a "P" and two zeros in front of the 10 digit business registration.

Yes we are on Shopify Plus.

No this issue isn't solved since posting January 2023.

We saw the alternate method of putting another country's  shipping address before confirmation and correcting it to a South Korean address after order confirmation, which may also work for Draft Orders, but it's all very lame compared to a proper choice in field validation options for business numbers or Personal Customs Code formats within the field that blocks completion of orders.

Please step up, Shopify.
