there are three parts in the settings where you put your address. one is the 'store details' and below it says

'Used on customer order confirmations and your Shopify bill'
and the other two setting tabs says 'location' and 'shipping and delivery'
if someone wanted to return a item to me (and it shows the address when they print the label) which setting tab of the three do i put the po box/virtual mailbox address? and which setting do i keep my personal address for taxes

Hey, @peaxyy!

When you create a return label for the first time, the return address will be set to your store's shipping origin. The shipping origin is the address that is found in the Settings > Shipping and delivery area, specifically in the Shipping from section of your shipping profile, and this address is manually entered in the Settings > Locations area of your admin. The shipping origin also appears on the shipping label you create to send orders.

If you wish for your PO Box address only to appear on the return label and not the shipping label, you can edit the return address the next time you create a return label. This new return address becomes the default address for future return labels. If you wish for your PO Box address to appear on both the return label and shipping label, you can edit the address on your Locations page, specifically the one where the products are assigned. As long as this location has been set as your shipping origin and it has shipping rates, it will appear on the shipping label you purchase.

As for your business address, the one associated with your Shopify bill and other operational matters, you will need to enter it as the address in the Settings > Store details area of your admin.

Offering returns to your customers is a great edge to have. If the returns in your store aren't free, I highly recommend considering this as it's very attractive to potential customers. There's always going to be a risk in online shopping and the fear of unmet order expectations can put potential customers off from ordering. Free returns can give them the confidence to order your products, so it correlates with getting sales.
