Dear Experts!

I received a response from DSCO outlining three methods for integrating Shopify with their platform to pull inventory data:

  1. AS2 (EDI)
  2. SFTP (EDI/FLATFILE)
  3. API (JSON)

While I appreciate the options, I seek your expertise in recommending the most suitable method for our needs. Could you please advise on the advantages and disadvantages of each approach in the context of our current setup and desired functionality?

In addition to these native integrations, I noticed the Dscopify app as a potential alternative. Would you consider this a viable option, and if so, how does it compare to the DSCO-provided methods in terms of features, cost, and ease of implementation?

A prompt response with your insights would be greatly appreciated, as this decision will guide our next steps in setting up the DSCO integration.

Thank you for your time and expertise.

Sincerely,

Hi @TurabHassan

API is the best option to choose out of the three, and You can check the prebuilt as well - https://constacloud.com/commercium/network-connectors/commerce-hub-dsco-and-shopify-integration.html

Advantages of APIs as compared to other -

  • AS2 is ideal for industries requiring strict compliance and security, particularly with large retailers or health organizations.
  • SFTP works well for simple, secure file transfers where real-time processing is not needed, making it suitable for periodic batch processing or reports.
  • API (JSON) is best for real-time, flexible, and scalable integrations, especially in modern, web-based, or cloud environments.
