Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
I'm running through some problems when I'm trying to make a purchase on my website from incognito mode.
So, here are some info which may help:
- I created my Shopify account recently (3~ hours)
- I purchased the basic Shopify plan (24 USD/monthly)
- I created an business PayPal account and attached a Revolut card on it and confirmed the card owner (it costed me 1 USD)
- I attached my business PayPal account to Shopify
- I deactivated the password from the website (published it) so anyone can enter on it
So, I'm entering on the website from incognito, I add a product on my cart and then after I add the shipment details, I press the buton ~Pay with PayPal~.
A mini page popup for 2 seconds and then gets closed automatically and I get an error named:
There was an issue with PayPal. Try again or use a different payment method.
What's the issue there?
Not sure if this was the fix, but I changed the website currency to EUR and I activated International Shipping and now is working (Settings->Markets).
Hi @Andrewg99,
It's hard to know what exactly was causing this issue with PayPal but I am glad to hear that the issue seems to have resolved itself after you changed the store's currency and enabled international shipping in Shopify Markets. It's possible that one of these things had an impact or it could have been a time-related error that resolved itself on its own.
Either way, I am glad that the gateway now seems to be working properly but please get back in touch if you experience any other problems.

Hi @Yousef-Samawi,
Have you been receiving this error message ever since you enabled PayPal on your store, or was it previously working correctly? In which country are you based?

Hi @MercuryA214.
Thanks for getting in touch. Was PayPal working on your store before you saw this error, or did it appear as soon as you tried to use it for the first time after enabling it on your store?

I have the same problem with this error message. New site build with Shopify and linking Paypal for the first time. Also set up a new Paypal account so using it for the first time to take payments via Shopify site.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Hi @CamLaHi,
Thanks for reaching out. As your account with PayPal is new, I'd recommend getting in touch with them and confirming that everything is set up and ready to go on their end. Once you have spoken with them and they have confirmed that your account should be ready to accept payments, please let me know if you are still receiving this error on your Shopify store.

Hi @skulltrain,
Thanks for getting in touch. Have you had customers report this error? Have you had any contact with PayPal about this to see if there's an issue with your account?
