Why am I required to enter a BRN for my Shopify Payment information?

Hello there! I am in Hong Kong and recently I have tried to start my dropshipping store. I have finished the majority of the steps but then when I need to fill in my information for Shopify Payment information. Upon entering the information that I believe is needed I click submit but then the system says I have missed information. I have chosen Individual/Sole proprietorship and after searching I should not need to enter my BRN but then the system forces me to enter my BRN. I am an individual and I do not hold any companies. Does this mean I just can't use Shopify?

Thank you for reaching out! I am sorry you are having issues with setting up Shopify Payments. 

If you do not have a BRN and want to onboard as an unregistered business there currently isn't an option to do this on your end over the sign-up page as we do have to verify you live in Hong Kong. What you will need to do is contact our Shopify Support Team, and they wil be able to confirm your location with you and then send the request to our escalated team which will then allow you to onboard to Shopify Payments.
