Why am I unable to add my debit card for Basic subscription?

I am getting these errors every time, when I'm trying to subscribe for the 1$/3 month Basic subscription.

-the errors: There is 1 error, You tried to add a payment method too many times. Please contact support.

- and the other: There is 1 error, your card was rejected while verifying. Double check the information you entered and try again or try adding another card


My debit card is good and working everywhere. But its not working here.

I won't be able to say for certain what's causing this without looking at your account, but I can share some troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Ensure you're using a supported payment method. More information on this can be found here.
  • Review the information you're entering with your credit card company, bank, or PayPal to rectify possible issues with the account that could result in the errors. Please also double check that you're entering the correct information.
  • Clear the cache and cookies on your current web browser, then completely restart the browser.
  • Ensure the web browser being used is up-to-date with the latest version. You can find more information on the browsers we support here.
  • Ensure the web browser’s cookie settings are enabled.
  • Ensure that pop-ups are not being blocked on the web browser.
  • Try using another web browser.
  • Try using an incognito or private-browsing window. When using incognito or private-browsing, confirm that any browser extensions and add-ons have also been deactivated, as these can change how webpages look and function.
  • Try another device, like a different computer or mobile phone/tablet.
  • Try using the Shopify Mobile app. This can help rule out device issues.
  • Try with another internet connection (for example, switching to a cellular network on a phone, rather than WiFi).
  • Ensure there are no firewalls or VPNs enabled on the device or network, as these can also interfere. If using a VPN, try setting it to another location, or switching it off.
