Why are my shipping rates doubling at checkout?

I am currently having problems with my store doubling my shipping rates at checkout.

This sounds like it could be a shipping profile issue. By default, only one shipping rate should be chosen by the customer, and they should not stack based on the number of items they have in their cart. However, this can occur if the customer orders two items from different locations or shipping profiles, meaning each item is being shipped separately from each location and as such, two shipping charges would stack and be charged to the customer. If you head to Settings > Shipping & Delivery, you can check your current shipping profile rates and zones. Are you selling from multiple locations and if so, did the customer order products from different locations?

 

Otherwise, shipping rate issues can also occur when third party fulfilment apps are not integrated into your store correctly. Are you utilising a Print-on-Demand app by any chance?

My products are shipping from one supplier but I'm not sure if from that
supplier it's different location however if it's so is there a way to
configure the problem and make it a fixed rate. I'm using the general
shipping profile with my rate at R169.99. As you can see below how my rate
doubles after a second item is added to the cart at checkout.

Would you mind sharing a screenshot of your Shipping Profiles? I'd also recommend checking your Settings > Locations to check how many you have active.

I have one location and a 3rd part service that manages my inventory

I also tried creating a new shipping profile with all my products in them
but the same doubling action occurs.
