Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi,
I am currently facing an issue where I am unable to active PayPal Express Checkout on my store. It was previously activated however I de-activated to change the email address for the PayPal account.
Now, when I go to Settings -> Payment -> Active PayPal Express Checkout, it takes me to a login page where I login with my PayPal Credentials (have tried both new and previously working paypal account), after authenticating I am taken to my PayPal dashboard. There is no return to Shopify button and now error message generated.
I have tried in 3 different browsers on my PC (Edge, Chrome, Opera) and also through the Shopify IOS App, each time I am just dropped into my PayPal dashboard.
I appreciate any assistance!
Thanks,
Tim

Ok, I believe I have resolved it by disconnecting from my Wifi and connecting via cellular network.
I noticed that I was getting a security challenge by PayPal each time I tried activating and figured this might be interfering with the URL redirection.
It worked when I connected via cellular, effectively changing my source IP. Once I stopped receiving the security challenge it activated fine.
Hope this helps someone in the future.

Hello @randyrascals
If you are unable to activate PayPal Express Checkout on your Shopify store, it's possible that there may be a connection issue between your Shopify store and PayPal. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
Check that your PayPal account is verified and in good standing. If your account has any issues, such as a suspended account, it may prevent you from connecting to Shopify.
Check that you are using the correct PayPal account email address. If you changed your email address for the PayPal account, you will need to ensure that you have updated it in your Shopify store settings as well.
Clear your browser's cache and cookies. Sometimes, issues can be caused by cached data in your browser.
Try using a different internet connection. If you are using a public or shared network, it's possible that there may be a firewall or security setting that is preventing the connection.
Contact Shopify support for further assistance. They may be able to identify the issue and provide a solution.
If all else fails, consider using a different payment gateway or reaching out to PayPal support directly for assistance.
I hope these suggestions help you to resolve the issue with activating PayPal Express Checkout on your Shopify store.
