Why can't I connect my Wise bank account to Shopify payments?

I can't connect my bank account manually in Shopify payments. When I correctly put my Routing number and Account number to add my bank it says that error with this account "Routing number is not supported" I'm using Wise bank account, however the account is checking account and is the same currency USD as of my shopify store.

Can you confirm what country your business is hosted in?

Different countries will have different requirements for bank account details so we can take a look into the requirements for you!

Hi Nia,

I am having the same issue, Wise is asking customers to update their account numbers. We've been using them previously for all our Shopify deposits and we tried updating and having the same issue.

My friends with other Shopify stores are also having the same issue... "

Bank account requirements for Shopify Payments USA

Make sure that your bank account meets the following requirements before you connect it to Shopify Payments:

  • The bank account is a full checking account with a bank in the United States in USD currency.
  • The bank account is eligible for ACH transfers.

If you are sure that your account meets all requirements then please contact our live support to have this escalated to our Shopify Payments team for a review.

I’ve had the same issue and contacted your advisors 4 times already regarding this issue and all of them promised the issue will be communicated to their specialists team who will get in contact with me as soon as possible, however I haven’t received any word from them on how to solve this issue! This is an internal Shopify error and I believe you guys have the responsibility to solve this immediately!
