Why can't I offer USPS first class package shipping?

why am i only allowed to provide priority shipping via usps i would like to offer "first class package" shipping what am i doing wrong

Are you using the Shopify Shipping service? If so, can you confirm if you've added the First Class Package option within your shipping settings? You can follow the steps below to double check:


  1. Navigate to Settings > Shipping and delivery, then click Manage on the shipping profile that you'd like to edit.
  2. Scroll down to find your shipping rates and under the Services section, you should be able to see which services you've enabled as seen below.



  3. If you don't see the First Class Package option on this list, then you'll need to click on the three dots next to your shipping rates, then on the popup that appears make sure that First Class Package is ticked as an option.


  4. Make sure to save your page and you can then go ahead and test your checkout to see if you'll be able to see the First Class Package option.


If you're still not seeing the First Class Package option appear on checkout, it might be that this particular service doesn't deliver to the address you've inputted on checkout. It may also be that the order's total weight doesn't meet the service's requirements too, so it won't show up as an option that can be selected on the checkout page. Because Shopify pulls the live shipping rates directly from USPS, you can check on their website here, or contact their support team to see if your package is deliverable via the First Class Package service that they offer.
