Why can't I pay for my new plan with my Mastercard?

We have created our third store on shopify and have had no problems with the previous two. When our free trial was up with the store we went to select our plan and when we put in our card details (debit card linked with Mastercard) it comes up with “outstanding bills couldn’t be paid with credit card”. We have never had this problem before and we tried 2 different cards linked to 2 different accounts so we don’t know the issue.

Would you have checked with your card provider to see if they have any info on this transaction to share?


We have very limited info on payment attempts even when we're able to view your account info in Shopify aside from a failure reason provided by your payment method. 


I would check with them to ensure that your card has recurring and international payments enabled.


You can also try using another debit or credit card to see if you can make payment that way.
