Why can’t I print FedEx shipping labels in Shopify? Keeps failing even though rate shows up

I’m trying to print a FedEx shipping label through Shopify Shipping — the rate shows up just fine (around $27 for FedEx 2Day), but when I try to buy or print the label, nothing happens. This has happened before too.

I’m based in Hawaii and shipping to the mainland US. Anyone else having issues printing FedEx labels from Shopify recently? Any fixes?

@YukoY - Apologies for your experience buying this label. We looked into what happened and it was a small FedEx outage. 

 

It has since been resolved which is why you were able to buy the label. We don't expect it to happen again moving forward.

Hi @YukoY 

 

The addressee mismatch is sometimes due to address formatting or package size mismatched. Try this hack: Copy the order, checking it out as a draft and slightly modifying the shipping address, like the ZIP, or replacing the address on the label (test the FedEx service type) then trying to purchase the label again. This will in many cases reset Shopify’s logic for the label system.

Thanks for the tip! That’s interesting. I’ll try tweaking the address next time to see if that resets things.

 

In my case though, the weird thing is that FedEx rates do show up fine in Shopify, and I can print USPS or UPS labels without any issues. But when I try to buy/print FedEx specifically, nothing happens.

 

This has happened before too, and strangely it sometimes just “fixes itself” a few hours or a day later. So I’m guessing it might be something on Shopify or FedEx’s end?

 

It’s just hard when I’m on a deadline and can’t wait for a day. Too bad no other apps seem to give me the same FedEx rate I get directly in Shopify.

 

Anyway, I really appreciate your suggestion!
