Why can't my store accept payments on Shopify?

Good afternoon,

Regarding the setup of my Shopify store, during the check-out process, I am encountering an error message stating: "This store cannot accept payments at this time."

After conducting some research, I've come to realize that several potential reasons could be causing this issue. However, none of them seem to apply to my situation:

  • The store is not in a trial period.
  • I have a subscribed plan (thus, not in an experimental phase).
  • The payment option is not in a testing phase.

To provide further context, I am currently utilizing Shopify Payments and have not integrated any additional payment providers such as PayPal or Amazon Pay.

Given the urgency of launching this store, I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with Shopify Payments. I appreciate you for ruling out a potential local issue, and for going through a number of troubleshooting steps. You will want to ensure that you have successfully set up your Shopify Payments by following this guide here. You will also want to check the homepage of your Shopify Admin for any banners, or review any correspondence from our team that requires additional information before enabling this payment gateway.
