Why does an unknown error appear during Shopify payment setup?

Whenever I provide all info required for shopify payments set up unkown error appears.

But whenever I go to check out on website it is providing all the shopify payment options I guess:


But when I check store settings it is showing the bank account below but complete set up option is still visible


Please help

Are you running into a specific error message when attempting to finish setting up your Shopify Payments account? If so, it'll help if you can share a screenshot of the errors that you're seeing on your end, so that we can help further troubleshoot the situation.


While customers may be able to navigate to the first page of checkout, if your Shopify Payments account hasn't been fully setup they won't be able to successfully pay for their order in the last stage of checkout. So I encourage you to finish completing the set up of your Shopify Payments account as soon as possible, to prevent any disruptions to your store orders or payouts.


In the meantime, to ensure that the errors you're encountering aren't related to a potential browser caching issue, you can follow the steps below when attempting to complete your Shopify Payments set up:


  • Try to login to your Shopify admin via an incognito window to complete your set up.
  • Or, you can use your usual browser but to clear the browser's cookies and cache  prior to logging in to your Shopify admin again.
  • You can also try another browser. For example, if you're using Safari, you can try via Chrome or Firefox.
  • You can also try to use another device to finish your set up, such as your mobile or a tablet.
