Why does Apple Pay work but not credit cards in my store?

I am working on a store and the test order for Apple Pay was successful but every time I try to order with credit cards the transaction doesn't go through. I tested the same cards on my other stores and the orders were successful. Is there a reason why Apple Pay can successfully complete an order but Credit Cards cannot?
